How to become a Director

When there is a call for nominations, the general membership nominates potential candidates. It takes three nominations to become a candidate. The nominating Committee reviews the submissions and will reach out to each candidate. Members will vote and election results will be announced at the AGM and posted in the appropriate branch.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR BECOMING A DIRECTOR?

When there is a call for nominations, the general membership nominates potential candidates. The nomination committee reviews the nominations and contacts all candidates. Members then vote to elect a director, voting and election results are announced at the AGM.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT FOR DIRECTORS?

Directors may spend up to 15 hours a month in preparation for, and attendance at, scheduled meetings.

HOW LONG DO DIRECTORS SERVE ON THE BOARD?

Directors serve a 3-year term on the board.

HOW DO DIRECTORS TYPICALLY SPEND THEIR TIME?

Directors represent you, the member. They are responsible for setting policies, the Credit Union’s overall mission purpose, objectives and strategic plans. They attend monthly board meetings and serve on a number of committees.
